Get Sh*tDone Club

Shut the F up and get it done.

A cool, quiet, clean coffee shop with a purpose. Show up — in person or on Zoom — with the project you keep putting off, bring your own coffee, and get work done. Two sessions every Saturday. Stay for one or both.

Next session

Free to join · Suggested donation $15 · Bring your own coffee · Pizza in person 🍕

The Get Sh*t Done Club room: long black tables and chairs facing a mountain backdrop, with Get Sh*t Done projected across the top.

How it works

Five moves. 50-minute focus blitzes with 10-minute breaks. You show up with the thing you've been dodging, and you leave having done it.

  1. 1

    Show up

Bring your laptop or notebook and the project you've been avoiding. Kickoff is 11:15 or 1:15, sharp.

  2. 2

    Quick intros

Say what you're working on and one goal for the session.

  3. 3

    Phones away

50-minute focus blitzes with 10-minute breaks. House rules are strict, and people who don't follow them will be asked to leave.

  4. 4

    Pizza break

Pizza in person. It's included — eat on the break, then get back to it.

  5. 5

    Share what you got done

We close by sharing what we got done. Out loud. That's the whole trick.

What to expect

A cool, quiet, clean coffee shop with a purpose. Bring your own coffee and get work done. The stairs are real, so here is the honest version.

  • Bring your own coffee

A cool, quiet, clean coffee shop with a purpose. Your cup, your project, the work.

  • 5th floor walk-up

4 flights, no elevator. Buzz the 5th floor. If stairs won't work for you, join on Zoom — same times, same club.

  • Focus blitzes

50-minute focus blitzes with 10-minute breaks. The room stays quiet while a blitz is on. House rules are strict, and people who don't follow them will be asked to leave.

  • Bring a charger

Laptop or notebook, plus the cable. One session is two hours. Stay for both and you're here until 3.

  • Eat on the break

No meals during a blitz. Crumbs and quiet don't share a table.

  • Pizza in person

In the room, pizza is included. That's the eating window.

FAQ

The short version, before you haul a laptop up four flights.

Do I need to be productive already?

No. If the project has been sitting there judging you, you're in the right place. You don't need a streak, a system, or a head start.

Can I bring any project?

Yes. Writing, coding, applications, school, life admin, the email you've been minimizing. If it's yours and you've been putting it off, it counts.

Can I stay for both sessions?

Yes. Each Saturday has 11am–1pm and 1–3pm ET. Stay for one session or both. Each sitting has its own RSVP, and kickoff is 11:15 and 1:15, sharp.

Is it free?

Saturday sessions are free to join, with a suggested donation of $15. No pressure, especially online. Pizza is included if you're in the room. GSD Study Club for students is $10.

What are the house rules?

50-minute focus blitzes with 10-minute breaks. Phones away. The room stays quiet during a blitz. House rules are strict, and people who don't follow them will be asked to leave.

What if I'm late?

Kickoff is 11:15 or 1:15, sharp. If you miss it, wait and slip in at the next break. Don't walk into the middle of a focus blitz.

How do I get the Zoom link?

RSVP to the online session on Meetup. The Zoom link is sent to members by Meetup message before the session.

Is there a student session?

Yes. GSD Study Club is for students, Wednesdays 11:30am–2:30pm ET, starting Nov 11. It's $10, in the same Midtown room, with pizza. RSVP on Meetup.

Is there an elevator?

No. It's a 4-flight walk-up to the 5th floor, and you buzz the 5th floor. If that rules the room out, the online session is the same club, same times.
